About Dr. Jonathan Erber
  Dr. Jonathan Erber graduated from Tel-Aviv University, Sackler Faculty of Medicine in 2002.
He completed his internship and residency in Internal Medicine at Montefiore Medical Center,
Albert Einstein College of Medicine Bronx, N.Y. in 2005, and his Gastroenterology fellowship
at SUNY Downstate Medical Center in 2008 where he was also Chief Fellow.
  After completing his training in Gastroenterology, Dr. Erber joined the teaching faculty at
Maimonides Medical Center, and his father’s private practice in Brooklyn, N.Y.  He also 
joined the staff at Beth-Israel Medical Center, Kings Highway division.

His interests in Endoscopy and Gastroenterology include:
  • Capsule Endoscopy
  • Small bowel Enteroscopy
  • Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS)
  • Colon Cancer Screening
  • Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD)
  • Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS)
  • Celiac Disease
  Dr. Jonathan Erber is a member of the American College of Gastroenterology (ACG), the
American Gastroenterological Association (AGA), the American Society for Gastrointestinal 
Endoscopy (ASGE), and the New York Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (NYSGE).
  He is actively involved in clinical and endoscopic research including:
  • New endoscopic technologies
  • Capsule Endoscopy
  • Endoscopic ultrasound (EUS)
  • Diseases of the Pancreas
  • Colon Cancer
  • Inflammatory Bowel Disease
He has published in peer review journals and presented at national Gastroenterology
society meetings. In 2006 he received the Young Investigators Award
from Given Imaging, for his work on the use of Capsule Endoscopy in the
diagnosis of Inflammatory Bowel Disease.
