COVID19 Update September 2020
Dear Patients/Colleagues:
In May, our office re-opened for in-person consultations and for diagnostic procedures-upper endoscopy and colonoscopy. In June, in line with NY State DOH Guidelines, our practice also began performing elective procedures/screening exams. Throughout the Fall and Winter, we will continue to update you on our scheduling policy. We will keep in close contact with you and your doctor regarding all of your health matters.
We continue to maintain regular office hours for both of our office locations. Telehealth/video visits are available every day of the week and weekend.
The office on Ocean Parkway is open Monday, 8am till 8pm, Tuesday, 8am till 5pm, Wednesday and Thursday, 8am- till 8pm and Friday, 9am till 5pm. The office on Nassau Ave is open on Tuesday, 3pm till 8pm and Friday, 12pm till 5pm.
As always, we will be available to you by phone, 24-hours/day.
You can continue to book appointments as usual by phone or online. On our website, www.drerber.com, just click on the Book Appointment button. To register for our telehealth services, go to https://drerber.visit.giondemand.com/public/#.
All appointments will continue to be triaged on the phone and when indicated, performed through our telehealth services (including new patients).
We have made numerous changes to our scheduling policy to ensure your safety and to comply with social distancing. Upon arrival for you appointment, please call our main office number and you will be escorted into the building. You must wear a face mask/covering during your appointment. For all appointments, we ask that patients come to our office on their own if possible, or with ONE family member or caregiver if necessary. Your temperature will be checked upon arrival. For all procedures (EGD/upper endoscopy and Colonoscopy), a COVID swab must be performed and be negative within 5-days of your scheduled procedure.
Coronavirus symptoms may include fever, cough, shortness of breath, sore throat, difficulty smelling, fever and muscle aches. You cannot come into the office if you have any of these symptoms or have recently traveled out of the country, travelled within the United States Quarantine States or have been in contact with a person with suspected or confirmed COVID-19. Patients at greater risk for complications from Coronavirus, include people 70 and older, and those with underlying medical conditions.
For complete information on the latest guidelines and screening process, please call our office at 718-972-8500. Due to the evolving nature of this pandemic, our screening guidelines and policies are subject to change.

As we have said before, this is an unprecedented time in our county and world’s history. Many of you might be worried, anxious or confused by this situation, and from the enormous amount of information that is coming to you minute by minute from the news media and social media. We will be here for you, your family, and our community and try to help explain and navigate these unchartered waters throughout this difficult time and in the future.
Wishing you continued good health and safety,
